Bitachon Or Hishtadlus (16) Earned Divine Assistance
Length: 54 min
Details
Based on the writings of Rav Chaim Cohen, the Chalban, Tallelei Chaim, Sefer Bereishis, P. 555. Shifting the emhasis from hishtadlus (trying) to bitachon (trust). Accepting Torah and mitzvos (commandments) and learning more (sincerely) and letting go [in stages] brings blessings and plenty into this world for this person and for the whole nation. Focused on the klal (community) or just on the self? Those who devote their time and efforts [sincerely] to learning and the great ideal of "fixing" the divine presence and supporting the nation of Israel, even if it means living a very simple, even poor life, will merrit high levels of divine assistance. In the time of Tanach, talmidei chachamim, who learned, certainly went out to war with the army. Like a soldier whose every need other than fighting is taken care of by the army, so too, a true eved Hashem who spends his time learning Torah will have his needs taken care of by Hashem; similar to Kohanim and Levi'im who did not inherit the land but were provided for. A sincere and hardworking, but mediocre student, or the brilliant less dedicated, even lazy student? Involving oneself on behalf of other Jews.
